EXCELLENT Based on 52 reviews Posted on Pieter LombaardTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an exceptional four night stay at Amarembo. The staff went out of their way to make our experience as pleasant as possible. Arriving back from remarkable Gorilla tracking and having your muddy shoes and clothes taken off and washed was such a spoil. We enjoyed the lush gardens and bird life.Posted on Japhet MbabaziTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing place, best experience ever!Posted on michael kraftTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing lodge that is very close to volcano national Park and gorilla trekking. The staff went above and beyond and the food was delicious. The room was spacious and very comfortable. This is an A+ hotel and definitely should be at the top of your list.Posted on Susan HendricksTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Such a wonderful place!! Amarembo exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff were so friendly and accommodating. Always smiling, they all went above and beyond. We spent three days here - we trekked to see the gorillas one day and then the golden monkeys the next day. The staff waited for us, immediately took our shoes away to be cleaned (and they came back even cleaner than before the treks!). We had our clothing washed a few times and they did a great job. The food was great! The daily soups were amazing! Kuddos to the chef. This trip was to celebrate a milestone birthday for both my husband and myself - the chef baked us an absolutely delicious chocolate cake! So thoughtful! The location is perfect, the food is delicious, the staff couldn’t be more helpful or attentive. Thanks a million to AMAREMBO by Touch Down for elevating a bucket-list trip to see the Gorillas of Rwanda to a top-tier experience. The staff were outstanding, attending to any of our needs and wishes. THANKS AMAREMBO, we will definitely be back.Posted on Ilze CoertzeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This was one of the most amazing experiences made possible by everyone from Amarembo. All staff made us feel so welcome and they were willing to do or help with anything - no deed was too much trouble. Always a smile, ready to make our stay as good as possible. Their attention to detail with everything, whether it was helping us getting ready for an activity, taking our muddy shoes off and washing them after the activity while we were enjoying a refreshing drink and providing us with a warm cloth to wipe our faces and hands is worth mentioning. The chef made amazing food every day. A big thumbs up for the best soups every day! He even baked a carrot cake with frosting and a written message on the cake when we celebrated a special birthday. Our executive room was authentic and decorated beautifully. We loved the fireplace that made the room extra cosy on colder days. The lodge is perfectly located to experience the best Rwanda has to offer. We loved the fact that Amarembo is a smaller lodge and this is part of their charm. We loved that family feeling. I can recommend Amarembo 100%Posted on Dipan ShahTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Spent 3 nights here in December 2025. Firstly, the best thing about the lodge is the staff: Francis, Bwiza, Innocent and Peter (and everyone else that I didn't directly interact with as they all bring it together), they really elevated our stay. So helpful and accommodating in every possible way. What works well: 1. Location is excellent and easy access to all the locations you need to go for the gorilla trek 2. Its an intimate lodge so feels very personalised 3. The dining / lounge area with a fireplace makes it feel homely. 4. We stayed in the deluxe rooms and they are thoughtfully designed. They have a fireplace, great toiletries, electric blankets. 5. Everything is very clean, Rwanda in general 6. The restaurant is super flexible and will cater to any dietary requirements and the food is very good. 7. The traditional dance was lots of fun and energetic. What could be improved: 1. The pool which looks amazing. We didn't use it because its just quite cold at that altitude and the temperatures generally runs cold throughout the year from what I understand, so maybe a heated pool would mean its utilised. 2. It gets cold at night, hence the rooms need a fireplace and electric blankets, but it was still quite cold for us and slightly uncomfortable at night.Posted on Stone & Slate DiscountsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you can get the Executive Rooms as they are more spacious and easier to live in for 2-4 days. The STAFF were all simply AMAZING and the local night in the booma was a show not to be missed. Keep the great work up team Thanks from our hearts Glenn and Shona Russell ❤️🇦🇺Posted on n828bcTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Close to the start of most gorilla expeditions, it’s a luxury location to base your trip to see these great apes.
